The Winter Shelter program serves single adults (ages 18 and older) in Virginia Beach who are experiencing homelessness. From November to March, faith organizations rotate weekly to provide overnight shelter and meals to participants.

Individuals must check in each day that overnight shelter is needed. Placement in Winter Shelter is not guaranteed as space is limited.

Program details, including check-in times and locations are provided in the Winter Shelter Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

The Winter Shelter program is a partnership between Virginia Beach Housing & Neighborhood Preservation, PiN Ministry, and the faith community. For more information about the Winter Shelter program, contact PiN Ministry at (757) 962-3567.

Families with children experiencing homelessness should visit the Housing Resource Center Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon for triage and assessment, or call the Regional Housing Crisis Hotline, (757) 227-5932 (Virginia Relay TTY: 711), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
