Virginia Beach faces significant housing affordability challenges, and demand for more options that are affordable to lower-income renters has risen significantly over the past several years. There is a need for affordable rental housing for a variety of households with low incomes, including but not limited to seniors, families with children, young adults aging out of foster care, persons who are homeless or unstably housed, veterans, and persons with disabilities.

The deadline to respond to this RFI is Aug. 14, 2024.

Housing & Neighborhood Preservation is requesting information from nonprofit and religious entities who wish to consider making land that they currently own in Virginia Beach available for the development of affordable housing. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to create a listing of available land that may be suitable for affordable housing development.

This is a request for information only, and no monetary award will result from this RFI. Responding to this RFI does not constitute any type of commitment on the part of the responding entity.

Interested organizations must complete and submit the RFI Response Form by 5 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2024.
